Fellowship Overview
The Texas School Psychology Social Justice Fellowship (TSP-SJF) is a statewide initiative designed to cultivate justice-driven leaders in school psychology. As a proud recipient of the NASP Equity, Diversity, and Social Justice (EDJI) Grant, this fellowship equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to challenge systemic barriers and expand access to mental health and educational equity across Texas schools. This eight-week program blends interactive learning, applied research, and collective action. Fellows engage with thought leaders in school psychology, education policy, and community advocacy while collaborating on projects that translate social justice theory into practice. Through lectures, workshops, mentorship, and advocacy experiences, fellows develop the tools to influence policy, disrupt inequitable systems, and reimagine school psychology as a force for liberation and equity. The fellowship culminates in a capstone experience at the Texas Capitol, where participants apply their training in legislative advocacy, policy analysis, and community engagement. By the conclusion of the program, fellows will emerge as empowered scholar-practitioners committed to advancing educational equity and mental health justice across Texas schools and communities.
